The purpose of the program
The MSHRM program helps future managers evaluate and adapt to the need for human resource development in contemporary organizations. The faculty in MSHRM stay abreast of the rapidly changing human resource environment, and provide graduates in this area with the tools and skills required to be effective human resources professionals. The Krannert HR program develops a unique and powerful combination of skills that enables each graduate to effectively manage a wide range of human resource challenges, as well as to understand and communicate effectively with other management professionals.
The plan of study
The plan of study incorporates three components: human resource management and organizational behavior (24 credits), general management with an analytical core (25 credits), and a wide range of electives (12 credits). The 2 year, 61 credit program emphasizes learning through grounded theory, case method, team work, and consulting projects. It strengthens presentation and communication skills, including extensive collaboration with management students who have other areas of focus.
