Hi, my name is Tom. I’m a senior in Management with a minor in Finance and will be graduating this spring! I have spent the majority of my life in Indiana as I’m from Fishers, which is just outside of Indianapolis. After graduation I plan on spending some time in Namibia, Africa doing missions work with The Navigators for a few months before returning home to a financial planner position with Ronald Blue & Co. My time here at Purdue has been more than I could have expected coming in as a freshman. Purdue has not only prepared me for success in the business world, but has also broadened my horizons and given me experiences that I could never have received otherwise. One thing that I will never forget is Purdue football. For two years my friends and I were privileged to have front row tickets and decided to paint out entire bodies for every home game. The relationships I have been able to develop throughout my years here have made the most significant impact on my life. Whether that be friends, professors or guidance counselors I will miss come next year.
I originally chose Krannert because I wasn’t sure what else I could do with my life other than be in business, but now I know this was the right choice for me. I have been challenged academically and discovered what I love to do. While getting a Finance minor I have had the privilege of having a majority of my classes taught by graduate professors. They knowledge and understanding has really helped me to understand the topics and I feel has given me a real advantage over other students. The Management degree has also helped me to have a broader understanding of management as a whole. I have had to take classes in everything from accounting to human resources and I feel that this gives me much more flexibility and opportunities in my future.
