Assigned Advising:
Our office assigns advisors to students. We expect that you will see your advisor when you visit our office. Advising is a partnership with students.

The student's role is:

• to prepare for advising appointments
• maintain academic progress records using SSINFO
• seek help when needed
• update address and phone number regularly on SSINFO
• and be actively responsible for your own academic career

Your academic advisor will help you:

• understand degree requirements
• monitor progress towards degree
• clarifiy policies and procedures
• register for classes
• verify transfer credits
• and assit you in investigating other majors and or options for your academic progress

Walk-in vs. Appointments: 
Advising can now be utilized on a walk-in or appointment basis.  Walk-in advising is intended for quick questions or requests and should be limited to 5-10 minutes.  Appointments are intended for more involved situations (career planning or registration) and can be 15 or 30 minutes.  Stop by the advising office to schedule an appointment or contact your advisor.
