Change of Degree Objective (CODO)

Change of Degree Objective (CODO) allows a current Purdue student to transfer from one school or college to another within Purdue. CODO applications submitted to the School of Management will be processed at the end of the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. 

Steps to CODO

In order to CODO to the School of Management, students are required to follow these steps:

Step 1: Carefully read and follow the Change of Curricula process located on the Purdue University Registrar’s website.

Step 2: Review School of Management CODO requirements and application deadline dates.

Step 3: Watch the Krannert CODO video located on this page. 

Step 4: After viewing one or more of the CODO videos, complete the survey at this link

Step 5: Submit application materials to the Management Advising Office (Kran 352) in the Krannert Building: 

    • Change of Curriculum Form
    • Printed survey confirmation email

CODO Application Deadline


Students wishing to CODO into the School of Management for the Spring 2015 semester must submit their application materials to Kran 352 between Monday, November 3, 2014 and Friday, December 5, 2014. Applications will be taken only during this time. Late applications will not be accepted.

Applications wil be reviewed after final grades are posted each semester. The Management advising office will contact students via their Purdue email account the status of their application.

School of Management CODO Academic Requirements


All School of Management students are required to complete the Management Admission Index courses (MAI) or Economics Admission Index (EAI) before admission to upper division in the Krannert School of Management.

Lower Division CODO Requirements

Students currently completing the MAI or EAI requirements may CODO into the lower division Pre-Management, Pre-Accounting, Pre-Industrial Management, Pre-Economics, Pre-Marketing, Pre-Finance,  Pre-Supply Chain Information and Analytics, or Pre- Strategy and Organizational Management.

Students who meet the requirements fro lower division are gauranteed acceptance into the School of Management, however, it does not guarantee space in needed courses.

Students wishing to CODO in cannot be on academic probation.

Pre-Management, Pre-Accounting, Pre-Marketing, Pre-Finance, or Pre-Supply Chain Information and Analytics 

  • 12 credit hour completed at Purdue West Lafayette Campus
  • 2.5 Overall Minimum GPA
  • MA 22300, Intro Analysis I (Calculus), or equivalent completed with a C- or higher
  • Minimum C- in any completed MAI courses

 Pre-Economics

  • 12 credit hour completed at Purdue West Lafayette Campus
  • 2.5 Overall Minimum GPA
  • MA 22300, Intro Analysis I (Calculus), or equivalent completed with a C- or higher
  • Minimum C- in any completed EAI courses

Pre-Industrial Management

  • 12 credit hour completed at Purdue West Lafayette Campus
  • 2.4 Overall Minimum GPA
  • MA 16100/16500 or equivalent completed with a C- or higher
  • Minimum C- in any completed MAI courses

Upper Division CODO Requirements

Students who have completed all MAI or EAI classes may CODO into Management, Accounting, Industrial Management, Economics, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain Information and Analytics, or Strategy and Organizational Managment (Upper Division). 

Students who meet the requirements for upper division are guaranteed acceptance into the School of Management, however, it does not guarantee space in needed courses.

Students wishing to CODO in cannot be on academic probation.

Management, Accounting, Marketing, Finance, or Supply Chain Information and Analytics

  • 12 credit hours completed at Purdue West Lafayette Campus
  • 3.0 MAI minimum GPA /2.5 Overall minimum GPA
  • ALL MAI courses completed prior to CODO
  • Minimum of C- in ALL MAI and School of Management courses

Economics

  • 12 credit hours completed at Purdue West Lafayette Campus
  • 2.75 EAI minimum GPA /2.5 overall minimum GPA
  • ALL EAI courses completed prior to CODO
  • Minimum of C- in ALL EAI and ECON courses

Industrial Management

  • 12 credit hours completed at Purdue West Lafayette Campus
  • 2.65 MAI minimum GPA/2.4 overall minimum GPA
  • ALL MAI courses completed prior to CODO
  • Minimum of C- in ALL MAI and School of Management courses
  • Minimum of a C- in Chemistry/Physics Requirements
