You could say that I come from a Boilermaker family. I will be a third-generation graduate of Purdue in May, and my mom, dad, brother and sister all hold Purdue degrees. However, I was by no means automatically committed to going to Purdue because of these family ties, and I went through the same tough college decisions like everyone else. I chose to come to Krannert because I liked the people, size, and academic reputation.

Krannert has a great sense of community and the professors and administration are all very friendly, open, and accessible. Also, when I first came here a new management building, Rawls Hall, was under construction. I saw this building as a sign of the growth and excellence of Krannert as well as the great commitment and attention that Purdue gives to the School of Management. Between Rawls Hall, the Krannert building, and the new Entrepreneurship building in Discovery Park, the Krannert School of Management certainly has the first class facilities to go along with its outstanding students and faculty.

Since I came to Purdue, I have been fortunate to be involved in some amazing groups and activities. Spring semester of my sophomore year I studied abroad in Vienna, Austria. I could talk about this experience for hours at length if you let me. If I could make one suggestion to an incoming college student, it would be to study abroad. Purdue offers great programs in a vast array of countries, and they are very supportive of those students who choose to go abroad. I have also been involved in some outstanding student organizations,
which have given me great opportunities for leadership as well as a chance to meet some wonderful new people. Joining clubs and groups on campus goes a long way to making a large university seem a lot smaller.

As I prepare to graduate this May and get out into the real world, I am very grateful for the opportunities and education that Krannert has provided me. As a result of my time here at Purdue, I am very confident that I will be well prepared for any jobs, responsibilities, or challenges that come my way in the future.
