I chose Purdue because I like how it is a small school within a large University. I feel that I receive more one-on-one attention, especially the day I came to visit campus my senior year
in high school. My family and I were walking though the Krannert facility and came across the head of recruiting for Krannert, Nanci Forney. She has a busy schedule but was able to squeeze in extra time to meet with me and my family on the spur of the moment. She answered our questions with encouraging responses and
really showed me that Krannert cared about their students and that a student is not just a number.
I encourage all students to get involved and not to be intimidated. Getting involved is easy and fun. There are signs for call-outs everywhere on campus and it is a great way to meet people. I really recommend Boiler Gold Rush, which is an activity offered to all Freshman students to get a chance to move in a week early and meet people on their floor.
Management classes may seem intimidating, but professors and Teaching Assistants have office hours and are willing to help you if you take the time to meet with them. Also, there are resource centers for english and math if you need help in those areas.
Good luck in your college decision and I hope you consider Purdue, since it has been such a valuable experience for me and such a great institution! |
