Daniels School Academics

Purdue University’s business school has long been noted for its academic prowess in management and economics. Faculty scholars have educated world-renown leaders since the 1950s. The “father of marketing science,” Frank Bass, joined us in 1961. That same year, Vernon Smith, the pioneering experimental economist, joined our faculty. He later won the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, and a Daniels School econ lab bears his name.

From these foundations we continue our evolution into a top business school built on four pillars: Excellence at Scale, Integrating Business with Technology, Transformative Learning, and Cornerstone for Business, which focuses on key, timeless communication principles.

Our Academic Areas

We enhance these academics with a full slate of events; centers of excellence, including experimental laboratories and research centers; and by offering our students valuable employment opportunities at the Daniels School as research assistants, teaching assistants, and more. We keep our curriculum fresh by partnering with industry and alumni on projects that go beyond the traditional classroom setting.
