(Retired) Senior Vice President - Human Resources
Rene R. Lewin retired as Senior Vice President - Human Resources for Wyeth in 2008. At Wyeth he was responsible for the planning and implementation of worldwide employee policies and programs, including compensation and benefits, employee relations, labor relations, equal employment policies and programs, recruiting, management training and development, and corporate security. Mr. Lewin served on the executive management, operations, finance, law/regulatory, human resources and benefits, retirement and savings plan committees of the corporation. He oversaw a worldwide staff of 500 employees. Mr. Lewin worked closely with Wyeth's Board of Directors in the planning, design, and approval of executive compensation, executive succession, and corporate governance polices.
Prior to joining Wyeth in 1994, Mr. Lewin was employed by Eli Lilly and Company for 24 years where he held a variety of executive management positions including President and General Manager, Eli Lilly Canada, Executive Director of Corporate Affairs, and Executive Director of Human Resources for Lilly's worldwide pharmaceutical business.
Mr. Lewin served on the advisory council for the executive MBA program at Rutgers University and chaired the Human Resource Council for the research based Pharmaceutical Association.
Mr. Lewin currently serves on Purdue's Human Resource Advisory council, and advises Purdue's human resource organization on a variety of compensation and benefits matters.
Mr. Lewin graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Industrial Management and received his MBA from Butler University.
Mr. Lewin and his wife, Karen, live in Zionsville, Indiana and Naples, Florida. They have three children and seven grandchildren.
