Does my internship have to be in operations or supply chain directly?

Yes and No, we welcome entries describing all summer internship experiences in manufacturing or service firms, or where the work can be tied back to your education in management, operations management, or supply chain management.  If you can do that with your summer internship, you are in!

What should be on my Poster?

  • Prepare a poster (~22” x 27”) poster-board containing pictures, graphs, PowerPoint slides, text or examples that describe your internship experience.  A good starting point might be the final report or presentation that you prepared for your internship, or perhaps just photos that explain your work.  NEVER include information that may be considered sensitive or confidential.  We can help you work around this.  You can view sample posters in Krannert 414 and on our website ( at the following link:
  1. Business professional attire is in order for this event.
  2. All you need to bring is yourself on Sept 30th!

Presentation and Judging Format

Judges for the competition are the industry visitors for the conference. The presentation is multiple one-on-one interactions with groups of judges. In these “2-3 minute elevator pitch” sessions, you should share your internship work or project, methods or conclusions, along with why the internship was valuable to both you and the company you worked for. Judges will then have a minute to ask questions.  Judges will use a detailed 50-point judging criteria sheet to determine the competition winners. Criteria include but are not limited to: poster content, poster display, presentation skills, and demeanor.
