Monica is an Indianapolis, IN native whose career in the Human Resources field spans over eighteen years. She earned her BS degree from Purdue University, Krannert School of Management, and later a MSM from Indiana Wesleyan University. Her past employers include Cummins Inc., Rolls-Royce Corporation, and Aon Consulting. In 2010, Monica was named one of “Indy’s Best and Brightest under Forty” by Junior Achievement. Prior to accepting her current role leading Human Resources for the City of Indianapolis, Monica held the position of Vice President of Human Resources for an affordable housing developer, and led her own human resources consulting practice, HrIntellect, LLC, that specialized in non-profit organizations and small businesses.

In her current position, she provides strategic oversight and leadership for Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Labor Relations, Training & Development, and Employee Relations for the City of Indianapolis and Marion County.

Outside of work, Monica enjoys raising her son, and despite increased responsibilities, she has consistently shared her professional skills with her community by serving as a guest speaker for Purdue University – Krannert School of Management – SMM and WIB, Society of Women Engineers, YMCA, National Society of Black Engineers, Community Action Partnership, and a host of others. Monica recently ended her term on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana Board of Directors, but continues to support a number of community initiatives.
