PURCE Webinar: How Social Policies Affect Migration

Thursday, February 25, 2021
11:00 am

How do social policies – particularly ones considered controversial – affect migration in the United States? Are people motivated to move due to a new social policy being enacted in their city or state? And how has politically motivated migration affected polarization in the U.S.?

Krannert economics PhD student Dan Bonin addresses these questions in his research. Join us for a look at Dan’s findings, and for a conversation on his PhD experience. He is set to graduate soon from Purdue, and will join the federal Department of Agriculture as a research economist for the department’s Economic Research Service.

Our live webinar will be hosted by Purdue University Research Center in Economics (PURCE) Kozuch Director Kevin Mumford. He is an Associate Professor of Economics at Purdue who advises economics PhD students and has worked closely with Dan.

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A.
