James H. Davis is a Professor, the Chairman of the Management Department, and Director of the MBA program and Executive Education at Utah State University. He teaches in Purdue's EMBA Programs at the Krannert School of Management.

Prior to Utah State he was the John F. O'Shaughnessy Professor of Family Enterprises and Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Davis has worked with many major national and multinational corporations on strategic planning and company positioning.

He is an accomplished author and popular keynote speaker to audiences throughout the world on the topics of trust, stewardship, transformational strategy and change. His research was recognized by The Academy of Management Review that named his trust research as the most influential theory of the decade of the 1990s. He is the author of two books: Social Capital: Multidisciplinary Perspectives and Growth Simply: The three-circle model.

Dr. Davis has been a secondary education teacher, a school psychologist, private therapist and a regional mental health coordinator for the Head Start Program.
