Faculty expertise
Last fall, we added 19 new faces to the Krannert faculty. And significant new investments in Krannert by the central administration and donors will enable us to further expand in years to come. Our new faculty join a group dedicated to teaching, research and service, serving as thought leaders in their chosen fields.
Professor Karthik Kannan (left) was named a Jefferson Science Fellow for his work leading to the formulation of U.S. foreign policy, and professors Fabrice Lumineau (right) and Mohammad Rahman were both named to the 2017 list of “The 40 Most Outstanding MBA Professors Under 40” by Poets & Quants.
Their research is both scholarly and practical. Among the findings of Krannert faculty:
Jillian Carr: Juvenile curfew laws may actually increase gun violence.
Yaroslav Rosokha: More lines at the checkout increase the speed of workers.
Mara Faccio: Firms run by female CEOs make less risky choices than male CEOs.
Brian Dineen: Third-party employment branding improves staff retention.
Zaiyan Wei: Online reviews provide incentives for both users and companies.
The research, corporate engagement and degree programs are tied together by Krannert’s research centers. Some, like the Business Information and Analytics Center, Purdue University Research Center in Economics (PURCE) and Jane Brock-Wilson Women in Management Center, are in their infancy. Meanwhile, the Dauch Center for the Management of Manufacturing Enterprises (DCMME) is entering its 30th year of existence.
