Four Purdue graduates make their traditional leap over the train tracks
Taking Giant Leaps: After no in-person commencement ceremonies in 2020 and a pair of in-person outdoor commencement ceremonies in May due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Purdue University hosted two in-person ceremonies in August 2021. More

New Purdue partnership with Juncos Hollinger Racing driving students into motorsports

Purdue and Juncos Hollinger Racing have announced a new partnership that will expand experiential education opportunities for students who want to explore careers in the motorsports, auto and mobility industries. The three-year partnership calls for Purdue to be Juncos Hollinger Racing’s engineering and technology academic partner and establishes a variety of internships for students, especially through the College of Engineering, Purdue Polytechnic Institute and Krannert School of Management. University to play key role in $15M Great Lakes innovation hub

In an effort to nurture a regional innovation ecosystem and advance research from the lab to market, the National Science Foundation has established a Great Lakes Innovation Corps Hub. Purdue University plays a leadership role in the new $15 million hub. Launched in 2011 within the Krannert School of Management, I-Corps trains scientists and engineers to carry their promising ideas and technologies beyond the university and into the marketplace to benefit society. Krannert welcomes new director of undergraduate student recruitment

Krannert welcomed A.J. Frigo in August as director of undergraduate student recruitment. He brings with him nearly six years of experience working in Purdue central admissions, most recently serving as senior assistant director of admissions. A graduate of Saint Joseph’s College, Frigo majored in theater arts and communications. In 2019, he earned a MS in Higher Education and Leadership from Purdue University Global. More

Nighttime driving restrictions reduce accidents, deaths among teen drivers

In most countries, traffic accidents are teenagers’ leading cause of death, with risky driving accounting for a large fraction of those teen deaths. Many governments have implemented driving restrictions to reduce these risks, with varying degrees of success. New research from Purdue University’s Timothy Moore finds that a ban on nighttime driving with multiple passengers more than halved crashes, casualties, and deaths targeted by the ban. More

Purdue team takes home top honors in ESC Hackathon

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the nature of work. From the office to the commute, the boardroom and beyond, no part of the workplace remains untouched. In a recent hackathon on the topic hosted by ESC, seven students from Krannert’s MS in Business Analytics and Information Management (MS BAIM) program took home the top prize with an app that helps companies improve the mental health of their workforce. Brock-Wilson Center for Women in Management names new director

Cara Putman, a clinical assistant professor in business law, communications and ethics, is the new director of the Brock-Wilson Center for Women in Management at Purdue’s Krannert School. Putman brings her reputation as a highly effective instructor and student mentor in the undergraduate program to oversee the growth and enrichment of the BW Center’s portfolio of programming, which emphasizes gender and diversity issues in the workplace. Krannert School names first Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fellow

Zhan Pang, a professor who will connect Purdue University expertise with faculty and student startups, is the Krannert School of Management's first Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fellow. These fellows connect the research enterprise with the commercialization enterprise. Pang, the Lewis B. Cullman Rising Star Associate Professor of Management, has co-founded and been involved with startup companies in other ways since he was an undergraduate in mathematics at Nanjing University. More

Inaugural recipients of Julie Wainwright Scholarship announced

Four elite students in Krannert’s new Integrated Business and Engineering (IBE) undergraduate degree program cohort are benefiting from the inaugural Julie Wainwright Scholarship for Women Who Make a Difference. Wainwright (BSIM ’79) is the founder of TheRealReal.com and recognizes the importance of increasing the number of females in entrepreneurship. She established this scholarship in 2020 to acknowledge and elevate Krannert women enrolled in the IBE program. More

Research project led by Krannert professor receives Department of Defense grant

A project led by Yaroslav Rosokha, a professor in the Purdue University Krannert School of Management, received one of 17 Defense Established Program to Stimulate Research (DEPSCoR) awards from the Department of Defense (DoD). DEPSCoR is a congressionally mandated, capacity-building program designed to strengthen the basic research infrastructure at institutions of higher education. More

Purdue master's degree features financial problem solving through machine learning

Purdue University is offering a new all-online master’s degree in data science in finance with a concentrated curriculum focus on machine learning to solve modern financial problems. The online master’s in data science in finance is a collaboration between the Department of Statistics in Purdue’s College of Science and Purdue’s Krannert School of Management. The program leverages internationally recognized Purdue expertise in data science, machine learning and finance. More
