Bruce White is the founder and chairman of White Lodging, one of the largest privately held hospitality companies focused exclusively on developing and managing highly curated urban and lifestyle properties. Based in Northwest Indiana, White Lodging also manages the Union Club Hotel at Purdue University, which is now part of Marriott’s internationally recognized independent hotels, the Autograph Collection.

Bruce graduated from Purdue University in 1975 with a degree in management and since has been active with the university in a multitude of ways. He served on the Purdue Board of Trustees from 2011-2015, is a member of the inaugural class of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management Hall of Fame, and is a member of the Boiler Business Exchange Business Hall of Fame. Bruce’s board involvement has included University of Chicago Hospitals, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, the Chicago Economic Club, Big Shoulders Fund and the Terlato Wine Group.

Bruce is married to Beth White, who is a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in coordinated dietetics. She also holds a master’s degree in public and environmental affairs from Indiana University. Beth is vice chair of the Boys and Girls Club of Chicago and serves on the board of directors for the Big Shoulders Fund.

The White Family was recognized for its ongoing support of Purdue, including a $30M gift to transform the Union Club Hotel, with the renaming of the now White Lodging-J.W. Jr. Marriott School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Bruce and Beth currently reside in Saratoga, Wyoming, on the grounds of the world-renown Brush Creek Ranch. They have three adult children: Corrine, Conner, and Otis, and welcomed their first grandchild, Timothy James, last year.  Beth, and all three children are involved in the hospitality business in various capacities and sit on White Lodging’s Board of Advisors.

The Krannert School of Management joins Purdue University in expressing our heartfelt gratitude to Bruce and Beth White for their generous and transformational support to make the Dean V. White Real Estate Finance Program a reality.
