Monday, April 10, 2017

Registration for the Krannert School of Management’s “Boilermakers by the Bay: Internet of Things” symposium in San Francisco, California, on April 18 has reached capacity and is now closed, but all Purdue alumni, friends and corporate partners can still take part by watching a live stream of the event on Facebook.

The symposium will feature both academic and industry experts on the Internet of Things (Iot), allowing attendees and viewers to learn about the role Purdue University is playing in the ever-expanding reach of IoT and how companies are innovating and adjusting their business models in the wake of new technologies.

Industry speakers include Brad Surak, chief operating officer at GE Digital; John Annakin, chief revenue officer at ClearObject; Sean Galligan, vice president/industry lead for the Technology, Media and Telecom category at Yahoo; and Robert Schmid, managing director and chief IoT strategist at Deloitte.

Speakers from Purdue include Ali Shakouri, the Mary Jo and Robert Kirk Director of the Birck Nanotechnology Center in Discovery Park; David Hummels, dean of the Krannert School and a professor of economics; Ananth Iyer, the Susan Bulkeley Butler Chair in Operations Management; and Karthik Kannan, professor of management and co-director of the Business Information and Analytics Center (BIAC).

The symposium also will feature a virtual sponsorship hall and conclude with an evening reception.
