Brooke increasing her MBA salary at a top Midwest grad school

If you're an MBA student, your focus is often juggled between your studies, personal life, and the daydreams of your post-MBA salary. Often a busy schedule results in students overlooking the resources offered at their top Midwest grad school. For Purdue Krannert students, there are countless resources. We assembled a list of resources to help. The best part? They're all free for full-time Krannert students.

Gain a Skill or Learn Something New

Did you know the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) is a resource used across the nation? From learning the rules of a new writing style to finding the answer to a grammar question, the lab is a great tool to have in your arsenal. Purdue students can also schedule tutoring at the award-winning Purdue Writing Lab.

Ever think about trying your hand at videography or photography to enhance a project or pursue a passion? The Purdue Library offers rental equipment like DSLR cameras and camcorders to help.

Speakers and workshops are a frequent occurrence on the Purdue campus, and often they're free. Use this calendar to search for opportunities.

If you want to stick to business themes, Krannert regularly features presentations and discussions led by business leaders from top regional and national companies in the Krannert Executive Forum.

The Purdue University Galleries offers various events and workshops during the year with topics like steamroller printing and developing your own living graphic novel.

Stay updated on economics. The Krannert Economics department offers seminars throughout the year. Thirty distinguished external speakers are hosted during the academic year. In the summer months, Purdue faculty and graduate students present their latest research.

Improve Your Health

Schedule a free counseling session at the Therapy Services at CAPS. Options include individual sessions, couples therapy, group therapy, psychological testing, and more.

Grab some fresh, locally grown veggies and fruits at the seasonal farmers market located on campus.

Obtain a free diet analysis from a registered dietitian to help you form a diet that fits your goals.

Not feeling well? Students can schedule a free office visit with the university's medical clinic.

Make use of the membership included in your tuition and work out at the Purdue Recreation & Wellness Center.

Entertainment and Culture

Enjoy a free-to-attend sporting event like soccer, cross country, wrestling, swimming and diving, golf, tennis, and track and field.

Visit one of the permanent or visiting exhibits at one of the three campus galleries.

In addition to aiding your academic pursuits, the library also offers books and media that can entertain during your free time. Borrow movies like Gone with the Wind and the Original Star Wars Trilogy and books for recreational reading from the Purdue Libraries.

Use the calendar of events to find many free campus events offered throughout the year.

Help Your Career

Use the Purdue Career Wiki for answering questions you have during your career search.

Attend a career fair to talk to a company face-to-face. In this increasingly digital world, it can be hard to burst through an email inbox with a resume. Having a room full of companies hiring and looking for Purdue talent is an opportunity to make a connection, practice your interviewing skills, and a motivator to update your resume. You have career fair options as a Krannert student, The Center for Career Opportunities & Pre-Professional Advising department serves all Purdue students and The Krannert Professional Development Center (KPDC) serves Krannert students and alumni.

Speaking of KPDC, they also offer workshops, mock interviews, resume and cover letter revision, and more.

In addition to the free resources to help your career, students are also encouraged to take advantage of Krannert-specific and Purdue-wide student organizations and the Purdue alumni network.

A sure sign that you are at a top Midwest grad school is the abundance of resources available. Purdue is chalk full of opportunities that will aid you in your academic pursuit and post-graduation as you are searching for an MBA salary.
