Thanksgiving Dinner

On November 25, Krannert Graduate Student Association (KGSA) hosted a Thanksgiving dinner that combined family, food and fun in Rawls Hall at 6:00pm. They placed all the different Thanksgiving dishes on tables in a buffet style in the 3rd floor commons area. Most of the dishes were catered, however, one of the Student Services staff members, Judy Rife, also prepared the green beans and corn for the students. KGSA also encouraged the students to bring desserts, and students brought ice cream, brownies, pies, cookies, and even an Indian dessert to share.

There were approximately 50-80 people who stood in line and had some delicious food with friends and family. It was quite a few student’s first Thanksgiving dinner in the US, many of them enjoyed the turkey and other traditional Thanksgiving dishes. They gave good feedback to several KGSA members.

KGSA also asked students to nominate classmates for this year’s Superlative Awards prior to the event. They announced all the winners during the dinner as well. Few of the winners include: Alex Alan (MBA ’20, The Best Dressed award), Jenny Eckley (MSHRM ’20, Most Frequent Flyer Miles award), Michael Rouse (MBA ’20, Most Likely to be Found at Harry’s award), and Krati Gupta(MBA’21, Most Likely to be Sleeping in Rawls award).

Everybody who joined the event seemed to have a good time and many students appreciated the event.
