Victor 'Duke' Ferguson, CPA

ferguson2-002.jpg

My name is Victor Ferguson, but most people call me Duke. I am a fourth year PhD student in management with a concentration in accounting, and I am a BKD scholar. My primary research interest is in taxation, specifically the communication between taxpayers, tax authority and third parties.  I am also interested in research related to financial accounting.

Prior to my time at Purdue, I spent two years in public accounting working with a regional accounting firm working primarily in their tax department. There I gained experience working with individuals, nonprofits, and a variety of business entities. During my time as a public accountant I also worked on external audits for both for profit and not for profit corporations, as well as the internal audit of a major corporation. I also held two internships prior to working as a CPA, one with the North American Financial Reporting Department of Tempur Sealy International, and the other with a regional utility company.

I have been a licensed CPA in Kentucky since August 2015. I attended Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky for my undergraduate studies where I graduated Magna Cum Laude.
