Dr. Yang Wang has served as the Associate Department Head of Management in Teaching and Programs at the Daniels School of Business, Purdue University since August 2022, concurrently holding the role of Clinical Assistant Professor. Previously, she held positions as the co-Academic Director of the MS BAIM (Business Analytics & Information Management) program and the Academic Director of the Online B.A. (Business Analytics) program. Dr. Wang also chaired the MS BAIM Advisory Committee.
Since joining DSB in 2017, Dr. Wang has effectively taught a diverse range of courses at both the undergraduate and master’s levels. These courses cover subjects such as Management Information Systems, Database Management, Management of Organizational Data, Python Programming, and Industry Practicums. Her exceptional teaching abilities have been recognized with multiple awards, including the prestigious Purdue University Teaching Academy Leadership Award, Krannert Outstanding and Distinguished Teacher Award, and Teaching Innovation Award. Additionally, she has demonstrated scholarly excellence, receiving the Krannert Business Ethics Education and Research Grant in both 2022 and 2023.
Before joining Krannert, Dr. Wang earned her Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona in 2017. Prior to that, she obtained her M.S. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011.
