Desiree and a student

Students from Benton County elementary schools visited Purdue on Tuesday, September 27th. Purdue  saw ~575 students all day. The event is a part of the Benton County Promise in which students in grades K-3 are encouraged to start saving for college. In an effort to increase high school and college graduation rates, students are given $25 dollars for every $125 dollars they save in their 529 College Savings accounts.

To reinforce the positivity of being on campus, students participated in several fun activities led by different college representatives on campus. Krannert was represented by the Leadership Communication Studio where Desiree Shannon, an MBA student, organized a business design challenge. This challenge was to help students understand what it is like working in a team, how to share and what difficulties they can face in a team environment.
